Cold Weather Minute: Spring Cleaning for Energy Savings

March 9, 2010

As temperatures warm, just a few simple steps can help you save energy and money. Clean ceiling fan blades before use and make sure the fan is spinning in the correct direction to reduce heating and cooling costs. Replace furnace filters to help air circulate through the home using the least amount of energy possible. Be sure to clean out the clothes dryer exhaust hose to prevent lint build-up. Consider adding a low-flow shower head to save money on water heating. For more information about using energy safely and wisely, visit www.ColumbiaGasMd.com.
