Cold Weather Minute: Two Simple Tips on Saving Energy and Money this Heating Season

Properly installing a programmable thermostat in your home is one of the easiest ways you can save money and energy. The key is to create a program that automatically reduces heating in your home when you are either asleep or away. This will prevent homeowners from paying to heat their home when no one is there. Another easy way to save energy is to keep the draperies and shades on your windows facing the south open during the day to let the sunlight come into your home and closed at night to decrease the chill you may feel as a result of cold windows.
