Columbia Gas actively supports organizations that are working to make a difference in the communities we serve. Every year, we award grants that help improve the quality of life for our customers, our employees, and our neighbors in the communities where we deliver safe and reliable natural gas service. United Way
Columbia Gas of Maryland and its employees are extremely proud to have partnered with the United Way for many years. Columbia’s employees volunteer as local United Way campaign representatives, and work with each of the county United Way offices to conduct local campaigns across our service area. Our employee United Way pledges, combined with the company’s matching funds, help to improve the quality of life in the 26 counties we serve across Maryland. Additionally, our talented and knowledgeable employees volunteer for local United Way Day of Caring events, providing a helping hand and in many cases technical expertise to a special community project.
Employee Volunteerism
Many Columbia Gas of Maryland employees volunteer to perform a variety of services for the communities where the company provides service.
The volunteers assist in community events and programs as an extension of the corporate contributions focus of the company -- education in the arts and humanities, community development and public safety, and human services.
