How to enroll in CHOICE®
CHOICE® service enrollment is available year-round. Simply select a qualified supplier in Maryland and enter into an agreement with them. If you choose to participate and enter an agreement with a supplier to provide your gas supply, they will notify us of the change. We will confirm your selection by mailing you a postcard when we receive the change request from your supplier.
How to compare suppliers
Your total cost of natural gas per Ccf is divided into two parts:
- The gas supply charge (the amount the supplier charges you for the natural gas);
- The distribution charge (the fee for delivering the gas to your home).
You will be shopping for the gas supply portion of your bill. To shop knowledgeably, you need to know your "price to compare," which is the cost per hundred cubic feet (Ccf) that you would pay to Columbia Gas if you purchased your gas supply from us. The "price to compare" is available on your monthly gas bill, by using the links on the left side of this page, or by calling our Customer Satisfaction Center.
