Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP)

This federal program helps eligible households maintain utility service. These funds are distributed as energy grants, and are only for eligible households. To get started, call the MEAP hotline at 1-800-272-2714.

HeatShare Fuel Fund

This program provides grants to customers for use in offsetting debts or restoring service after shut off. This program is available if you have exhausted all other available assistance programs. To find out if you qualify for a grant, call us at 1-800-537-7431.

Utility Service Protection Program (USPP)

This program protects you from shutoff and allows you to enter into a year-round even monthly payment program. USPP spreads your bill payments evenly over 12 months and deducts your grant from the estimated gas cost. If you owe a large balance, a special agreement will be issued to pay off the balance. WarmWise Low Income Usage Reduction Program (LIURP)

This weatherization program helps seal areas where heat escapes. It helps income-eligible customers who have high gas usage reduce how much energy they use. Call 1-800-537-7431 to learn more.
